The group currently comprises Blixa Bargeld (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blixa_Bargeld) (lead vocals, guitar, keyboard), Alexander Hacke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Hacke) (bass (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_guitar), guitar, vocals), N. U. Unruh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N._U._Unruh) (custom-made instruments (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Experimental_musical_instrument), percussion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percussion_instrument), vocals), Jochen Arbeit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jochen_Arbeit) (guitar and vocals), and Rudi Moser (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudi_Moser) (custom-built instruments, percussion, and vocals).


The band is often classified as industrial music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_music). One of their "trademarks" is the use of custom-built instruments, predominantly made out of scrap metal and building tools, and noises, in addition to standard musical instruments. Neubauten has always experimented with sounds, originally in noise music (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noise_music) and recently in very diverse styles.

i love this band....but feel that everything after nue/end went downhill.....seen them a couple times....great band live...also great for mind expanding trips
