The idea just came to me and I thought it was pretty neat, I did a tad bit of research and so far I just came up with a prologue to the story.
Black, White, and Shades of Grey

Oh man, a thriller. That sounds cool Ropon, Im looking forward to reading your fic. Itsuko sounds like a cool character, I wonder if its someone she knows or something. *thinks of old mystery/thriller novels*
I'll hopefully start the first chapter this week, I just need to do some more research.

Chapter 1: The First of Many
>The door opened with its usuall squeek, it was a bit past eleven when Itsuko Deguchi finally got back to her apartment in Shido-cho. It was another tedious case, it had been a while since she had a good one, and she was getting tired of having to solve the easy one's. "I wonder if I worked for a department I might get some better case's?" she thought aloud, she made a heavy sigh than, flipped off her shoes, and her other clothes until she was in her under shirt. She switched off the bed lamp and finally layed down for some much needed rest.
>The alarm rang with an annoying mechanical sound, Itsuko squinted to block the sun from pouring into her tired eyes. She pushed the snooze button and mumbled as she rolled onto her side, just than the phone rang. Itsuko cursed under her breath as she picked up the phone. "Hello?" "Itsuko, did I wake you?" came the reply, "Oh Yoshike, no, I was already awake." she lied. "Ok. You just don't sound so good." "I had a long night, and I didn't get much sleep." Itsuko glanced at the clock and saw that it was seven thirty-four, "So what did you call for?" Itsuko asked, "I just wanted to hear about your case, anything exciting happen?" "No, it was the same as usual, if you want to hear about it, lets go out to eat than. I haven't eaten since yesterday at lunch anyway's." "Ok, how about the local noodle shop down the street." "You know noodles aren't my favorite food." Itsuko said in a somewhat sarcastic voice. "Well no one will be there if we go at ten thirty." Yoshike said, "Alright fine, I'll see you there at ten thirty." The call was disconnected and Itsuko sat still for a while, until the familiar beeping of the idle phone disturbed her. "I hate noodles!" she mumbled as she got up and went to the bathroom.
>It was ten thirty and Yoshike was already waiting at a table when Itsuko walked through the shops door. "How long have you been here?" Itsuko asked, "Only a couple minutes, its a lot busier today than I thought so I saved a table." Yoshike said. Itsuko looked around the room and saw the most of the tables were already taken, and more people were coming through the door."I haven't ordered yet, what do you want?" Yoshike asked, "Water, thats it." "Oh thats right, you don't like noodles." A smile came over Yoshike's face, she got out of her seat and went to the cashier to order, a minute later she was back with a soup and two waters. "So how was the case?" Yoshike asked as she sipped at her soup, "Dull, another theft." "Getting tired of being a free-lance detective?" "I don't know, working for a department means I have to follow more rules, I hate rules." "You hate a lot of things." Yoshike chuckled. "I wouldn't mind another murder case, than I would actually be doing something more difficult." There was a pause of silence for a while before either of them spoke, "So what happened, what was the case about?" Yoshike asked, "A burglar robbed an old woman, it turned out to be her nephew." "How did you figure that out?" Yoshike asked, her eyes wide with curiosity now. "The woman attacked him and tore his shirt off, he had his name written on the shirt tag." Yoshike laughed quietly, "You have to hand it to the old woman though, for attacking her own nephew." Yoshike laughed again, "But I told you it was dull, there just never hard anymore." "Did ever think about getting a side job? Being a free-lance detective doesn't pay good anyway." Yoshike said, "I dont know, I could." "Well you could work at a noodle shop and get all the noodles you wanted!" They both chuckled, Itsuko checked her watch. "It's almost noon, I have to go get ready." "Do you like working at that electronics store?" Yoshike asked, "Even more dull than being a detective but it at least help pays for my monthly rent." Yoshike and Itsuko said goodbye and Itsuko went back to her apartment.
>It was nine o'clock when Itsuko got off work, she stopped by the local grocery store and bought a few tv dinners. She took off her shoes and put one of the dinners in the microwave, than went into her bathroom and took a shower. After she had changed into some clean clothes she took her dinner from the microwave and than turned on the television to see what was on. It was ten forty-seven by the time she turned off the tv, threw away the now empty dinner tray and went to bed. She could see the lights of Kagawa reflecting off the clouds, the red, yellow, and other shades of colors mixed and blended togethor and watching the moving night sky some how relaxed and with in a few minutes she was asleep.

>It was half past twelve and the night was cold, the streets of Saikai-cho were empty except for one lone figure walking down the dark streets. The lone figure was a young woman, a cold wind blew, she shivered and held her coat closer and tightened it around shoulders. She was walking faster now, wanting to get home out of the cold, but there was another reason as well, a reason she wasn't sure of, but it frightened her and she was to afraid to admit it to herself. She felt as if she wasn't the only one walking down that cold and dark street, she felt as if something was watching her, the feeling burned in her mind, and she began to walk faster. She was now looking down every dark cranny and as she increased her pace the feeling burned even more, the cold hampered her senses and she felt numb all over, but her eyes and ears were as alert as ever. The woman jumped and almost screamed when she heard a crash behind her, she looked behind her to see a trash can lid roll out of a dark alley, she froze in fear, watching the flat aluminum lid roll until it fell on its side. She stood there staring at the darkness where the lid seemed to of come from, but than she noticed something out of the corner of her eye, something that wasn't there before. Slightly higher, perched on the roof was a dark figure hunched in a position like a tiger ready to pounce on its prey, she was terrified, a voice inside her mind began to chant, the voice telling her to run, it got louder with each second, "Run!" it screamed. The woman broke into a sprint, the voice inside her mind screaming ever louder, her heart beat so hard she could hear it! The dark figure rose from its hunched position and broke into run as well, it ran across the roof and leaped across the gap and over the alley to the next rooftop, pursuing its prey. The woman was slowing in pace as she ran out of breath, she slowed to jog and began to gasp for air, with what she had left in her lungs she let out in a loud scream! The figure was already on the roof above her, showing no sign of tireing, it made a leap from the roof to the street below, landed on its feet and charged the woman, the woman let out a terrible scream as the figure ran out her like a beast runs at its next meal. The scream echoed through the dark alley's and off the house's and than there was silence.
