it depends on who youre talking about. sometimes it offends me when someone close to me is called a 'slut' but to tell the truth, when its told to someone i dont like i...i tend to think they deserve it.

so i guess its both yes and no.

If it's being directed at me, it does. If it's being directed at someone I like, it does. If someone randomly yells 'SLUT!' at nothing in particular in the middle of the street, it wouldn't offend me, even though I'd find it strange.

I think this word is used way too much and for the wrong purposes..its now just everyday language...but why the hell would i care what ppl say?

Its's an offending word. And it's mostly used when guy jerks call a girl a slut on the street if she's like wearing a skirt.

The word doesn't offend me, cuz I don't think it really applies to guys, but maybe if it was said to my gf, then I'd probably would get angry or something...

Yes. I use the word strongly, and carefully. A perfect example of a slut is my ex-girlfriend, who would always flirt and hit on people while I wasn't around. She also informed me of having sex with someone else. I was quite disturbed, and only under such conditions I'd use that word to describe someone.

The word "slut" doesn't bother me nearly as much as the word "c*#&." Xx

It doesn't offend me because, well, I've never been called a slut...yet. *Ahem* But, I'm sure that it is very hurtful to the person who gets called the name. Everyone has their reasons that they do what they do and it's not up to us to judge their actions...

Okay. No not really. In a joking manner, I'm usually called a slut for undisclosed reasons, but when I use it, like Casey, I usually try to discress how I use it.

BTW I had no idea something like that had happened, much sorrow to ya.

No. It's just a word, they may or may not mean it. Who cares? I don't. Not like I'm hospitalized from it.

I think it depends a lot on who you're talking to, who you're talking about, and what context you're using it in. XD

For example...I call -really- yummy food 'slutty'.

"McDonald's fries are so scrumptious with their greasy sluttyness."

Ok...

I don't expect anyone to understand that. ><

I dont find any word offensive ..... say anything it doesnt really bug me. I meen seriously if your talking about something badly then I mite get offended. Like if you say everyone who isnt christians gonna burn in hell Ill tell you your an idiot. Indivdual words dont bug me at all though. You could say everydamn word in the book Id be okay.

Also even culturaly unacceptable words can be used for good or for bad. Like ******r (edit:try to sensor me *****?) it seems evey white person in the world is scared to death of this word. You know what if I say it and Im not trying to be offensive to someone who happens to have black skin then it shouldnt piss anyone off. And if you think someones racist for simply useing this word and not being black then you should sit back and think whos really being racist? Plus well say it behind a black persons back but when they are there we wont say **** this has always bugged me. Im more upfront then that.

ya thats my rant for the day love it or not.

Name calling doesn't offend me at all. But slut is one that I know of that can hit me hard. Let's just back then the name suit me and after several years, I've chased the name away from my image. But sometimes I have friends or people that 'just know me' bring up the past and afterwards call me a slut. *my friends only do it to joke around with me about my past but they're not total jerks*. So if someone came up to me and brought up somethings and call me a slut afterwards, I would feel a bit hurt but really more pissed because it's so hard to dismiss the past. But the past months has made me feel better because alot of people around me are sex crazed so I feel the title has been passed on to 75% of the teens and adults around me.

i guess i could get quite offend by the word slut. but it depends who calls me it. if it was someone that doesn't know me too well then i wouldn't really care and laugh it off, (actually i was called a slag and not a slut by someone but they both mean the same thing). but if it was someone that was close to me or still is, then yeah i would get offend and some what hurt.
i don't think i'm a slut and none of my friends and bf think i'm one, so i only care about their opinion and no one elses. cos they're the only ones that really know me and my parents of course, but they already know ^_____^
