50cent=A mtV puppet(Was a hitt in the begining but now he is forgotten)
Lloyd Banks=thinks he is a papiChulo(a ladie's killer)
Yuck Buck=his two latest songs are stupid
Game=N/A(haven't herd him spit. However he is in every video, making him annyoing .just like P. diddy does..lol)

50 Cent sucks, Buck sucks, Banks is alright, and Game is good. SolidSnake, they are all in each others videos, at least sometimes they arent, unlike P Diddy who has to be everywhere...

Call me Snake dude  Though I have to agree with you there. Unlike Game ETC. When P. Diddy is another video which is not in the Bad Boy company he is always Advertising and dancing along with Mr. Bently. For me 50 cent is going to end up like P. diddy. U_U meh 50 is dead...no one dosen't know he hasen't made a track for 8 months...he was just another puppet for MTV's pleasure
yo i wouldnt mind joining the hip hop clan either.
Jins album drops tommoro i already listened to some of it tho. Its dope. i suggest that to all of you. especially if you havent heard Jin before.
Well from G-Unit I like Tony Yayo more than the others... he just sounds better then the others, shame he's locked up.
An album i'm currently waiting for? Nas - Streets Disciple can't wait for it. :)
What about tracks that you currently like at the moment?
Nas - Bridging the Gap
Dilated Peoples ft. Kanye West - This Way (A few months old I know but I'm still loving it.)
Oh and thanks for letting me join :D

My current fave rap track is Nas/Jadakiss - "Why" and yes Thiefs Theme is pretty good too. I'm also looking forward to his new album.
Only reason G-unit have a recording contract is because of 50 cents. Same reason D12 are allowed on the airwaves, cept its because of Eminem. I loved "Art Of Getting robbed" by 50, but when I hear that track now I just laugh at how much he has sold out, and he's basically doing all the things he "dissed" other successful rappers for doing.
He performed at the Reading festival in the UK in the summer. He got bottled and he got booed. Meh.

Well from G-Unit I like Tony Yayo more than the others... he just sounds better then the others, shame he's locked up.
He's out....and Game got signed by Aftermath, which is Dre's label, he is just with the whole G-Unit crap.
Jin's album will be hot, he is a crazy freestyler. I like people who can freestyle more than hot tracks, like Cassidy, though he is in soem hot tracks, unlike Hotel and Get No Better.

No one should diss Mr. Bently. The former silent man is kool and funny. The first time I have ever really heard him say anything is in the remix part of Kanye West video "the New Workout Plan" which I absolutely love.

When I saw that a hip hop clan was in the works I was expecting you guys to talk about albums and what tracks were good and what wasnt. Things like whether or not this person was on his game or whether this battle was bad etc etc. But I havent seen that and Im kind of dissapointed. :p
No, Im not joining your clan but I wanted to state what I think are worthy hip hop artist.
Common
Tribe Called Quest
Mos Def
Those three groups or artist have always been in my cd player. Multiple records and mix tapes. Thats the style I listen to most.
I heard ATCQ had a reunion album in the works is this true?
Another album i'm anticipating is The Clipse "Hell hath no fury", the first album was good so i'm expecting the same from this one.
Oh and Jin's album should be pretty damn good from some of the stuff I've heard from him.
Tetsu.
10-22-2004, 03:12 PM
I agree with Wildstar. Let's make a new topic subject shall we:
What is your opinion of Jay-z's retirment? Good or bad that he is leaving the hip hop commnuinety?
Most people think he is overated. Some think that he did a upgrade on the rap community. Now he is fianlly retiring.(or is he I dunno haven't been in rapmusic news yet =P)I belive that he will remember. he was really diverse. For example, It's a hard knock life was plain good. Then he did big pimpin which was really good.he switched alot his style. to the real hip hop to the club hits
Bone Collecta
10-22-2004, 10:18 PM
Hes really just going to change his name to S.Carter when he comes back to making albums. Hes not really retiring

I never really liked Jay, I mean for one reason he has my girl Beyonce(so I guess she isn't mine...) but anyway, I always was more of a Nas fan during their beef, so I always HAD to hate him.
@WildStar: Ah, Mos Def is great...

10-24-2004, 01:44 PM
Alright, I do:
Where do you like your hip hop from? East, South, Midwest, West
I would definately say east and west, as they were great from the beginning of Hip Hop, and are still running strong. Most artisits from the Midwest are wack like Chingy, Kwon, etc. The south has some good ones, but not really comparing to East and West.
Tetsu.
10-24-2004, 02:03 PM
I'm mostly into eastside hip hop. However if i want to get gangsta rap I'll get artist from the westside. Get clubs hits the durty south. Mid-west nah they only me. >.<
BloodKnight
10-25-2004, 02:55 PM
Dirrty South all the way!!!

Then I'd say Westside Gangsta Rap.

He performed at the Reading festival in the UK in the summer. He got bottled and he got booed. Meh.
Haha yeah, that was beautiful.
Jin is a moron he uses his race as a gimmick to sell records. Maybe, just maybe if he stayed on the battle tip and went underground he would have some respect.

hey you guys do you think that rappers are born with spitting(freestyle)or they train ETC.
I mean I know I can't Spit(freestyle) However, I always wonder how rappers like Jay-Z can't write thier music.
What do you mean?
Jay Z writes his own lyrics, he also wrote for Dr Dre and others at certian points of their careers. No one is born with the ablity to freestyle.. as in rhyme off the head, it takes practise and it pays off.

youre more afraid of me, than i am of you

get your mental purged, knock the life out your central nerves
there aint a death i dont deserve
there aint even a fit punishment for me to serve
my only need is L's to cook, i only read spell books

From what i've heard it's a Black Album mash-up with Meteroa sounds ok though.

There is no such thing as "backpack rap" its just a term people with little to no knowlege call underground rappers. It's usualy referd to groups and artists who write obsucre lyrics, like Aesop Rock or Cannibal Ox because a majority of their fans are graffiti artists with backpacks.
There is a defintition of what narrow mided suburban kids think backpack rap is.

I have been a fan of hip hop since I was 12, started with the beastie boys. Later on grew out of them and now am experimenting and warping hip-hop into new genres. Here's a genre Im thinking of creating.
ACID-Hop: A form of Hip Hop in which is rapped over squechy synths and old school drum machines. ranges from 110-150 BPM

So true it annoys when people dismiss rap as music genre, and when they say "It's just talking **** over a beat" when they probably can't even freestyle themselves or write decent lyrics themselves.

Dr. Dre involved in fight at Vibe Awards
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) — A fight broke out near the stage at the Vibe awards ceremony as rapper Snoop Dogg and producer Quincy Jones were preparing to honor Dr. Dre., and one person was stabbed, authorities and witnesses said.
Dozens of people sitting near the stage Monday inside a hangar at the Santa Monica airport began shoving each other as the show wound down about 7:30 p.m. News video showed chairs being thrown, punches flying, people chasing one another and some being restrained.
It was unclear if the stabbing preceded or followed the fight. The victim, a 26-year-old man, was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.
No arrests were made.
Witness Frank Williams said Dr. Dre was involved in the brawl.
"I saw Dr. Dre fighting somebody," Williams told KCAL-TV. "I don't know if he was fighting back. But there was a guy taken out basically bloodied."
The Los Angeles Times, citing an unnamed associate of Dr. Dre, said the melee broke out as the acclaimed hip-hop producer was sitting at a front-row table waiting to receive the Vibe Legend Award. A man walked up to Dr. Dre's table and punched him, and Dr. Dre's bodyguards went after the man, the associate said.
Dr. Dre was about to join Jones and Snoop Dogg on stage to receive the award for his lifetime contributions to hip-hop. "Come on, your messing up my rap, man," Jones said.
Andrea Ferguson, employed by a public relations firm that worked with Vibe for the second annual awards ceremony, called the incident a "disruption" but declined to provide details. She added the show was allowed to continue but it was halted for about five minutes.
"My understanding is that it was somewhat chaotic in there," police Lt. Frank Fabrega said in a press conference following the fight.
About 1,000 people attended the event; some scurried for the exits when the melee began. The show was taped Monday and was expected to be broadcast on the UPN network Tuesday.
"It's really important that we don't take a negative incident like this and do away with the awards," Suge Knight told reporters.
Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur were among the artists signed to Knight's Death Row Records during its height in the early 1990s. After leaving the label, Dr. Dre started the highly successful Aftermath Records, which has signed stars including Eminem.
When Knight was released in 2001 from a five-year prison term for assault and weapons violations, Dr. Dre obtained a court order to keep Knight away from him, The Times said. It was unclear whether the order remained in effect Monday.
Vibe magazine focuses on urban culture and entertainment. The awards are voted on by music journalists and "regional tastemakers." R&B singer Usher led the awards with five nominations, followed by Alicia Keys, who has four nominations.
XD what do you ppl think?
It already exists (the name). Horrorcore aka Acid Rap was inspired by artists like Gravediggaz and Insane Poetry in the 90s. Basically it's horror rap but it never blew up because it's hard to market.
Ah yes Gravediggaz are just amazing.
Yeah I read about that Dr Dre fiasco on the CNN website did you know Young Buck was involved? Apparently he stabbed someone...

By Acid Hop, I mean a fusion of Acid Electronica and Rap. Im a one man team, Beats, sampling, everything. I am cuurently making a rough draft of what would be the first in Acid Hop (not to be confused with Horrorcore). This is hip hop that is very aggresive, and has surreal lyrics. (Like telling the story from a monster who dying, something wierd like that).
for example:
Im coming out of a Lake bed
in Bloodshed, on the wrong meds
Seeing the treds of a red
truck that is stuck
my nerve endings
causing bendings
my own mendings extending
commending that is in turn pretenting
to be rendering to something it is not, and be masked
multitasking turn laxing
and escape is all im asking
just a quick rap i came up with, going to an awkward beat i would be assuming.

Here's a fun fact for peeps who own Slim Shady LP. Eminem and one of my favorite indy artists, 'Cage' had beef, he claimed Em stole his style.

Like I say, time to move on. There needs to be some serious revamping in the whole hip-hop community. That is why im experimenting with the basics of hip-hop and mixing it with other genres that would be a no-no in the mainstream hip-hop community such as Acid Techno. Mix that with hip hop, you got a freaking fresh sound that no one has ever heard before.
In alot of ways, hip-hop is electronica. It is made with electronic equipment, made with synths, made with drum machines, which are the standard tools for everything electronica and more. The only real difference is that hip-hop is slower usually and has beat poetry to it, that is all that separates hip-hop from techno or electro.
back to the topic
I never follow big trends, i might be inspired by, but I usually bring my own whimsy into the mix. Like Afrika Bambatta said, hip-hop is all about spreading knowledge through beat poetry, that is exactly what im going to do. Meaningful lyrics, with a style never heard before.
I will be posting the links to the songs I make, so you cats can check it out.
Sweet I'm interested in your project GGP.

Then May I ask you a question? Is producing beats are really hard? you know you got to get the bass ETC. Or does it depend on the the equipment you got?
Architecture
11-26-2004, 10:46 AM
it really depends, if you want to do some really insane aphex twin/autechre stuff, then yea, even for me, that gets really time consuming. for that stuff, you need extensive sequencing of beats.
for everything else, its cake walk. Most of the beats heard in hip-hop are not done live at all, its all sequenced (Akai MPC 2000XL). for alot of the leads in hip-hop, those are done with synthesizers and stuff (Minimoog, MS2000, Virus KC).
now to make the beats, it is simple once you learn. For like 100 dollars used, you can get one heck of a drum machine called the Electribe R-1 made by Korg. What is soo cool about that one is you can MAKE your own drum sounds with the tone-generators(Extreamly powerful as-well). and sounds FAT!
http://www.vintagesynth.org/korg/etr.jpg
What is also another plus is the step sequencer, which is the bottom 16 pads on the drum machine. hint, if you want to see how it all works out, put a bass drum every 4 steps (1,5,9,13), and from there, you can do all the crazy experimentation you want.
if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.

The new Nas and Busta Rhymes collabo, "Suicide Bounce" — from the November 30 release Street's Disciple — has already leaked to mixtapes (Nas also has a banger with Ludacris called "Virgo" out on the streets as well). As the "half man, half amazin' " tells it, there is a lot more to come. He and Bussa Bus are talking about joining for a supergroup, but think more in the vein of the Roots than the Firm.

90's rappers that don't suck at the moment:
Nas, Outkast, Guru, Wu-Tang Clan, Beastie Boys.
Thats all I can think of at the moment, i'll try and get some more up later.
I haven't listened to anything new from Wu in a while. I bought/stole everything they came out with since 36 Chambers, to Forever... and all the solo projects, Gravediggaz, Killarmy stuff, then they fell off.

Fat Joe has told reporters that his old crew, Diggin' in the Crates, is working on a new LP. D.I.T.C. also features Lord Finesse, Showbiz and Buckwild, among others.
as for his solo album, Atlantic Records has decided to push the release of the Terror Squad leader's album, Things of That Nature, back to early next year.
"We feel ['Take Me Home'] is gonna be a major, major hit, so I didn't want to have my album out at the same time and compete against ourselves," the rapper said. "So we just pushed it back to the first week in February."
What do you think? D.I.T.C. had some good stuff.
Don't get your hopes up... come back albums are generally shi*ty and Joe's been getting progressively weaker after Pun's death.
Oh yeah Joe has steadily gotten crapper and crapper over the years.
Speaking of comebacks Ma$e's new stuff ain't so good.
Other rap news:
Apparently 50 Cent's first single "Disco Inferno" from his upcoming album is produced by Dre and is meant to be horrible, no good rhymes and no dope samples, nothing to take seriously.

On his new album, Street's Disciple, Nas commands your attention: He forces you to hit the rewind button a few times before his verses are finished, then makes you ask the person nearest to you, "Did you hear that?" There's plenty of fodder for discussion stored within his double-disc set, which came out on Tuesday.
A track that has everyone talking is disc one's "These Are Our Heroes" (released to the streets with the title "Coon Picnic") on which Nas raps, "Let's hear it, one for the coons on UPN 9 and WB who 'yes massa' on TV/ Whatever happened to Weezy, the Red Foxxes who never got Emmys but were real to me?"
O.J. Simpson, Taye Diggs and Tiger Woods are among those he lashes out at. NBA star Kobe Bryant, however, catches most of the heat on the record, being called out by name and compared to Toby from the miniseries "Roots."
"You can't do better than that?/ The hotel clerk who adjusts the bathroom mat?" Nas says in his verses, referencing Bryant's much-publicized criminal charge for sexual assault in Colorado. "You beat the rap, jiggaboo, fake n---a you, you turn around then you sh-- on Shaq."
Nas recently said he was contemplating releasing the song as a single but did not know if media outlets would be able to embrace it.
"It's a fun record," Nas insisted. "I pick out certain guys that's heavy in the media who — whether they're athletes, rappers, whatever — I think [they're] cooning. I don't know if radio and TV are ready for those images, but they should be, because that's what hip-hop is."
A song that Nas is almost sure he will release in the near future is "Virgo," with Ludacris and Doug E. Fresh. The song has already made its way onto mixtapes.
"That joint was fun," he said. "Doug E. Fresh is one of the greatest entertainers and one of the guys I looked up to. Ludacris is witty, fun and one of the tightest lyricists out there. All of us are cool, and one of the main reasons is we share the same sign.
"Doug does the beat box on the record," he continued, "so it reminds you of a Slick Rick, 'La Di Da Di'-style [song]. On 'La Di Da Di,' Slick Rick was having fun talking about this girl he bumped into. It's vulgar, it's funny, and Ludacris brings that effect to it. Being a fan of Slick Rick, I bring that Slick Rick/ New York vibe to it."
Nas said he and Fresh originally did the song together but decided to ask Ludacris to join the collaboration because he and Luda had been talking about working on another song (the two first rapped together on Nas' "Made You Look" remix) — and because Cris is a Virgo.
"Our birthdays are close to each other," Nas said. "We've been talking about doing a birthday party together, and this song is like a party on wax."
Another major collaborator on Street's Disciple is Busta Rhymes. He laid down the chorus for "Suicide Bounce," a song which also features newcomer Quan (Quan, an MC from VA, is the man Nas says he's passing the baton to as the new hot MC on "Just a Moment").
" 'Suicide Bounce' is based off when you feel pressured and you feel like you can't take it, but you're not dumb enough to take your life," Nas said. "You feel like you want to do something to somebody, you just wanna go off. The energy of the record is to keep you going, push you forward, keep you bouncing instead of calling it quits. Busta Rhymes is on the hook, and he brings the energy. It felt like 'Hate Me Now.' "
Love and hate are the themes of "War," which Nas calls his most personal record on the double opus.
" 'War' is [about] my baby-mama drama," he said. " 'War' talks about when my daughter was born and me first being on the scene with stardom. It kinda went to my head. Me and her mom were young. It just shows what happens to the household when we run and speed into things. I don't really wanna blame anybody, even though I did go through extra-crazy scenarios. I still don't point the finger; I'm the bigger man. I think everything is an experience, and I feel you learn from everything. That record got personal because I named the years and dates from where I'm at."
Believe it or not, Nas says it's that style of record that makes him second-guess himself.
"You lay the record down, and then you don't want nobody to hear it," he said. "[You ask], 'Are they going to judge me?' After it's laid, I'm scared, and I don't want the record to come out. I'm like, 'Let's change it.' It's too late by then. But I say forget it and just let it be out."
Nas admits he's a little weird. Luckily he has two soul mates, his fiancee, Kelis, and his child, Destiny, to help keep him sane.
"They're my therapists," he said. "I'm a tortured, torn, insane guy. They make me feel great."
Kelis, who appears twice on the album, acted as muse for some of his rhymes. "She was there for a lot of it," Nas said. "She helped me out on two songs — just [her] talking to me inspired me."

which were the best years of rap?
the 90's the 80's ETC?
Hey everyone happy holidays and all.
Ah a new topic I was thinking of making one myself but due to laziness/bluntedness I didn't. :P
I think the best years of rap were the 80-90's era, it just feels like artists were putting effort into their songs back then compared to todays standards. I do like some of todays rappers but back in 80-90's everyone seemed cooler, but this is probably because I was new to the game back then.

90's 'cause technology advanced while rap still had most of it's messages written in there. This is the way I saw it.
Rap is revolved around story telling and is heavily introduced (80's)
As stories get told over and over people try to find new ways to tell them.(90's)
Once ideas run out it starts to get a little icky. (Present day rap.)
This is why Tupac, Nas, Bone Thugs 'n Harmony, were so good. 'Cause they changed the way messages were sent etc. Take a look at Nas' song, "Rewind".
It's hard to find stuff like that today without having to hear a million punch lines in a song. But if you're interested check out immortal technique.
Nothing to do with lack of ideas, the target group only changed from street kids to rich and middle class kids since hip hop become big business.

That's not necessarily true, but I think rap has gotten "cool", so they listen to it. ^__^
One of my current favorite artists is Jay-Z. He's had his ups and downs in his mainstream moments, but I think, overall, he's a really good rapper. ^__^
And as for T.I., I heard his CD, and he does have a handful of well-thought out songs. Props to him. ^__^
Sure it's true. Target groups change due to appeal. Suburban kids can't relate to hardcore rap, most wont give it a chance, and conscious hip hop is hard to market. Hence Chingy, Nelly, etcetera.

I said MOST. NWA, Pac and Thugs got big before the "jiggy" era, on top they were very talanted. Record companies realised the big money is in clubs, not the kids listening to hardcore sh*t, then mainstream got corny.

I thought it was oooooooook I guess. It really wasn't anything new, just something to listen to a few times and never again. I thought the idea of mixing lyrics was rather uncalled for though. Sometimes you'd hear Jay-Z's lyrics talking about something in the streets then you'd hear LP sing about girl problems etc.
So many LP fans have become former LP fans now because of this (See what mainstream can do to you?). *Shrug* I guess you can safely say there's always a never ending hatred between rap and rock in people because alot of people out there are narrow minded, sadly. I don't dislike any of them though, just thought they could have done a better job for an album.

When rap/rock collaborations are done right the results are ome of the greatest tracks ever. I'm talking about Anthrax/Public Enemy - Bring Da Noise, Run Dmc/Aerosmith - Walk This Way etc. If you want a true rap/rock hybrid band look no further than Rage Against the Machine.
Anyway Collision Coarse apart from a few tracks that a worth a couple of listens as pointed out is god awful. They didn't even try and make a coherent album and I bet most bedroom dj's could do a better job. Shame cuz Mark Shinoda is a decent producer and Jay is a above average rapper.

Which rap tracks do you never get tired of? I'm talking about tracks you've heard a million times but they still sound as fresh and great as when you first heard them.
Grand Master Flash - White Lines, The Message
Rappers Delight - Sugarhill Gang
Kurtis Blow - The Breaks
Tribe Called Quest - Can I kick It, Award Tour.
NAS - Most of the Illmatic album.
De La Soul -Me Myself and I.
Slick Rick - Childrens Story
Dead Pes - Hip Hop
Eric B. & Rakim - Let The Rhythm Hit Em
Public Enemy - Bring The Noise, Rebel Without a Pause, Who Stole the Soul, Baseheads
KRS One - Sound Of The Police
Regulate - Warren G/Nate Dogg
No Diggity -Blackstreet/Dre/Foxy
Tupac - Keep Your Head Up, the entire All Eyes On Me album.
NWA - **** The Police, Something Like That, Dopeman, Straight Outta Compton
Run DMC -Tricky, Walk This Way.
I could go on. A tad different to the fave rap song topic. We have had one of those right?.
Any of the tracks on Violent By Design.
Today I am drinking coffee and playing The Executioners Dream OVER AND OVER again.
I go to sleep with one song in my head, and then, like a ****ing cd player or something, it keeps going, and I wake up humming one thats further down the playlist.

I heard that "Push" song. The lyrics are...hehehe. ^__^ But it has AWESOME beats! ^__^
edit: Oh, I forgot to comment on his other songs. "Run" is a good song; I also really like Jadakiss. "Get My Dough" is one my favorites. "Paychecks" is probably one of my least favorites, but I mean, that's not saying much. It's still good, just not my favorite. "Holla" is definitely different from his others (a lot slower).
But musically, "Push" is my favorite. ^__^
Ghost is one of my favorite rappers. He has a wonder woman bracelet which is a major factor.
I has actually broken down and cried on a track before. It's on The W, I think. He's rapping about families and slavery, and rape, and kids dying etcetera, and he just starts mumbling and shouting.
W00t! Ghostface!
The reason I asked this is because I picked up 'Ironman' the other day (yes I know long overdue etc.) and its GREAT!
My favourite track from 'Ironman' is 'Winter Warz' thats a hell of a banger, and Cappadonna's verse is his best one to date.
I heard that "Push" song. The lyrics are...hehehe. ^__^ But it has AWESOME beats! ^__^

+ J Shadow will be producing Cage's debut album on Definitive Jux. Called 'Hell's Winter', it will feature Daryl Plaumbo of Glassjaw and RJD2.
+ Q-Tip has signed a new deal with Motown after a failed signing with Dreamworks. New tracks have Jaydee on production.
+ Andre 3000's biopic on Jimi Hendrix may be scrapped because the guitarist's estate has forbidden the directors to use music from his archive.
+ Crooked I has been officialy relased from Death Row.
Crooked I Officially Released from Death Row
Having fought numerous personal, legal and political battles in efforts to break free from the contractual constraints of Death Row Records, Crooked I is now officially released and has wasted no time in following through with his vision for himself and West Coast rap. This vision begins with Dynasty Entertainment, Crooked I's creation and catalyst for movement. Signed by Treacherous/Universal, his label has begun its line up of projects.
Crooked I will release a tell-all DVD, "Life After Death Row," about his trials on Death Row Records, dispelling rumors and allegations and allowing the public to see for themselves the trials and tribulations of the rap game. This project is paired with his released mixtape, "Young Boss Vol. One," and his upcoming album, "Momma's Boy... Gotta Loaded Gun," all of which are the artist's means to reaffirm the authenticity behind the name Crooked I.
This patient and level-headed free agent looks at his past years of misfortune as a learning experience and wants to walk away from it all with respect. He is not about the bitterness between West Coast and East Coast rap scenes; his focus is not distracted by the petty back and forth between artists in the rap game, and he holds no hard feelings with his prior label. Instead, Crooked I is using all that he has gained in his ventures to re-establish himself and his own Dynasty. His main goal is to revamp West Coast classic [rap]. Crooked hopes to bring the life experiences back into West Coast music through his albums and allow the little guys, up and coming in the rap game, to take part in this evolution as well.
As his audience grows and his name remains untainted to this day, Crooked I has finally found the right track: "There are a whole lot of different types of music circulating on the West, but only one particular type that's getting the spotlight, so people think that is what the whole West Coast is supposed to be like. That is not true. My album is going to be a West Coast album. It's just gonna have a new flavor on it, 'cause certain people haven't been able to break out. That is what we are trying to do. The whole West is about to get a makeover."
Crooked I has come a long, hard way and is on a launch pad to success. He has his head on straight, looking onward and upward, his misfortunes in the past, solo projects on deck and hot new talent under his wing. He has found within himself the ability to remain focused, driven, and now it is time; it is his turn. The dues have been paid, and he has his eyes on the prize.
+ And Nas and Kelis are now married

Who is your favourite freestyler? I mean the ones who do proper freestyles such as Supernatural and Craig G.

Yeah Supernatural and KRS-One are both awesome.
Hieroglyphics
Rass
Snoop Dog
Canibus
Are others. I'm gonna go with Supernatural as well followed by KRS-ONE.
Also, do you think al MC's really come up with verses of the top of their head, or are some/most of them pre memorised (thats a word, shut up)? I'm saying, because some the lyrics are superior to the stuff they release!

Ha ha I use 'pre-memorised' too.
I'd say some do and some don't.
What I read in a rap magazine about mix-cd's:
Insert a pre written whack "freestyle" from up and coming flash in the pan rapper and then hear said freestyle appear on said wack rappers debut Def Jam album 2 months later.
I wonder who they were wrtiting about?

Tis a good song.
Okay how about a new topic?
With the recent rise of certain rap artists, diss tracks have become VERY popular. What is your favourite diss track/punchline and why?
Not to get off subject, but my dream last night was weird.
I was hanging out with Killarmy and some other assorted members of Wutang, and we were shooting the sh*t, and I asked them to sign my fanbook, and they all were getting really stylish, and using all my colored markers.
ODB went the craziest though, he signed his name as 'SAINT JACKSON' and colored it in all crazy, with mulitcolored dots and rainbows and transparent cubes and happy clouds.
So I said goodbye to all my newfound friends, and walked around this giant super-mall with an unmarked box and a big stuffed teddy bear.
Then my family was in a snake pit and I had to dive in and rescue them.
I think this all means i have a crush on Dom Pachino.
Tetsu.
01-17-2005, 12:58 PM
crazy dream there Cide :P But yeah ODB was known as the wild one on wu-tang-clan.
anyway back in topic.
Great song track diss was Hail mary/Ja-rule diss 2003 Featuring Eminem and busta Rhymes. What really pissed me off was that they used tupacs beats for it. <_<
Ha ha ha you always make me laugh Cide good look with that Dom Pachino crush son keep ya head up.
Nice choice Tetsu.
Mine:
+ The ***** In Yoo - Common
+ F**k Compton - Tim Dog
+ Jay-Z - The Takeover
+ Nas - Ether (My favourite)
+KRS-ONE - The Bridge Is Over
I'll post some of my fave diss lines some other time.

I am watching the Samurai Champloo the beggining song kicks ass here it is:
Battlecry
Opening Song
produced by Nujabes
lyrics by Shing02
Printable Version
sharp like an edge of a samurai sword
the mental blade cut through flesh and bone
though my mind's at peace, the world out of order
missing the inner heat, life gets colder
oh yes, I have to find my path
no less, walk on earth, water, and fire
the elements compose a magnum opus
my modus is operandi is amalgam
steel packed tight in microchip
on my arm a sign of all-pro
the ultimate reward is honor, not awards
at odds with the times in wars with no lords
a freelancer,
a battle cry of a hawk make a dove fly and a tear dry
wonder why a lone wolf don't run with a klan
only trust your instincts and be one with the plan
some days, some nights
some live, some die
in the way of the samurai
some fight, some bleed
sun up to sun down
the sons of a battlecry
some days, some nights
some live, some die
in the way of the samurai
some fight, some bleed
sun up to sun down
the sons of a battlecry
look, just the air around him
an aura surrounding the heir apparent
he might be a peasant but shine like grand royalty
he to the people and land, loyalty
we witness above all to hear this,
sea sickness in the ocean of wickedness
set sail to the sun set no second guessing
far east style with the spirit of wild west
the "quote-unquote" code stands the test of
time for the chosen ones to find the best of
noble minds that ever graced the face of
a hemisphere with no fear, fly over
the blue yonder where
the sky meets the sea
and eye meets no eye
and boy meets world
and became a man to serve the world
to save the day, the night, and the girl too
[chorus repeat]
Jin is on my sig.

to tell you the truth Kamina Ayato. I think IMHO the lyrics are cheesy as hell.
Don't get me wrong the song is ok. I just think the lyrics should of been more better.
Hey comrades, I made a Stoupe thread. I want some attention and pampering.
