The Epitaph of Twilight - Part 2 (A .hack// rp)

It has been 7 years since the last Hero of Twilight, Shugo, had left ‘The World.’ Of his party members, only Mireille and Komiyan, now with yet another character, remain inside the game on a regular basis. Ouka and Hotaru visit from time to time, but neither Rena nor Shugo have logged in for a very, very long time.

A war is brewing in ‘The World.’ Like many, it began small. Since the disbandment of the Crimson Knights 2 years before the Dot Hackers, the players have been unhappy with their replacements, CCcorp Executives, the Cobalt Knight Brigade. Unlike the Crimson Knights, who were forced to rely on Diplomacy and Skill rather than upon Brute Force and Threats, the Cobalt Knights’ powers as system administrators caused them to be far less tolerant of any form of protest. Like many before, the Cobalt Knights have begun to be corrupted by their absolute power. By refusing to examine their own abuses of power and interrupting all contact between players and CCcorp, they have begun a takeover. They have begun attempts to expand and tame the numbers of Data Bugs still roaming ‘The World.’ Aura and Zefie, unable to contact either Kite or Shugo, locked from ‘The World’ by the Knights, must rely on a new group of adventurers, linked and yet separate of the old. This is their story.

You are a player in ‘The World.’ Eventually, you will be part of this new group, Aura’s chosen. For now, some of you are simply irked at the Cobalt Knight Brigade. Some of you hate them with the passion of a thousand burning suns. Some of you couldn’t care less. Whatever the situation, this is the next chapter in ’The epitaph of Twilight.


Rules:
You may have up to 2 characters
No Godmoding
No Powerplaying
Custom Weapons/Armor had the following restrictions:
3 attacks/spells per weapon
2 spell per armor
Only one piece of equipment can have ONE effect, like death or skill drain.
DEATH DOES NOT MEAN ONE HIT KILL. It means massive damage.
Post ‘Mistral’ at the top of your post if you’ve read the rules
We will pick up new armor, abilities and weapons over the course of the RP

'hey kyoshiro!' karworu shouted to kyoshiro walking out of the main doors of the college he attened turning around kyoshiro looked to see his class mate karowru 'hurry up would ya i whanna get the game before the shops close!'

'hey kyoshiro you do know that the shops are out of that game!'

'no they don't i reserved one for today! i can't wait to see what the world is like!'

'well i'l join ya what are you gonna go as?

'don't know i might go as a heavy blade or maybe i'll be like those dot hackers and be a twin blade!'

'humm i'll get on the world before you look for me i'll be angel-sama! kay?'

'yeah sure! i'll be named kyo! see ya!'

kyoshiro entered the shop and approched a member of staff asking for his reseved copy of the world! the staff member walked off and returned a few minutes later with the game handing it over kyoshiro paid for it and returned home running stright to his comuter he turned it on and downloaded the world onto his pc, upon finishing signing up to the world he revived a message from karowru saying 'hurry up then i need to know what character class you are cause i'm gonna give you smoe weapons to help you off!'

replying too the message kyoshiro replyed just 2 words! 'twin blade!'

inside 'the world':

kyo warped into root town and was approched by an angelic looking character! hey there kyo heres the items i said i was going to give you!'

Kyo recived chaos blades, ice armor, ice boots, dragon gloves and necklace

'right kyo i'm gonna teach you how to equip, enter the menu for your character now select equipment. now at the present time you have low level equipment on now go down and select the items i gave you.'

Kyo eqiped the chaos blades, ice armor, ice boots, dragon gloves and necklace.

'ok your now ready to travel around the world! see you around kyo ah i forgot to give you this! this is a members address if you want to form a party you must frist invite them in! so if you need me just call me oh and not every one will be on for 24/7!'

Lianne loaded up The World and slipped on her headset

The World:

NegaBalmung warped into the Root Town. He looked similar to Balmung, but his armour and heair were black, and his wings were bat-like. He wielded a sword with a dark grey, pronged blade.

Turning to the Warp Gate, he noticed two characters, the Twin Blade was obviously new. He walked up to them and leaned forward

"Need any help?"

looking around gloomlessly kyo looked towards the blademaster that spoke to him 'huh you mean me? yeah i don't know what i'm doing! my friend introduced me to this game but i don't know where the hell i'm going *sigh* hey is it alright if i join your party? my name is kyo as you can tell i'm a total noob to this thing'

kyo gave his member address to negablamung

[Black Wing]

NegaBalmung smiled. It had been a long time since he had helped out newbies.

"Welcome aboard kyo! I was gonna go level up on Lambda Server, but that might be a bit above you!"

He walked up to the Chaos Gate and entered some keywords

"You use this gate to get to areas where you can fight. Just choose three keywords from the list, and make sure the area level it comes up with isn't too high, or you'll get smoked. I chose a place that's great for rookies: Bursting Passed Over Aqua Field. Almost everyone goes there first. Let's get movin', shall we?"

"Then Master Grave came into town saw some people having fun. Then Master Grave walked around looking at the town looking for any hackers. and he thinks to himself sometimes"

kyo walked to the choas gate with negabalmung as he entered 3 words to get a zone sutible for rookies warping there kyo was standing on a grassy plain looking around he quickly saw all his surrondings 'whoa what are we going to do negabalmung?'

[Black Wing]

NegaBalmung looked around in disapproval. He usually hated the grassy plains, at least at daytime, but for the sake of a newbie sacrifices had to be made.

He pointed forwards. "See that yellow symbol? That's a magic portal. Walk up to it, and either a monster or a treasure chest appears. I'll show you first, just stay there."

Walking towards the portal, it warped, and a large monster appeared, one that looked like samaurai armour, wielding two huge swords.

"What the-? Shogun Armour? On this level? Stand back kyo, it's way above you!"

NegaBalmung charged forward, a suprisingly high-pitched battle cry escaping his lungs. That is, high-pitched for a male character. His sword began glowing with black and purple energy, as he spun toward the enemy.

"Ani Revolver!" The two combatants met in a loud clash of metal, and the Armour fell to the floor, it's entire form darkened, just before it faded out of the field.

NegaBalmung stood there, a frown on his face. "That shouldn't have been there... I'll have to report it to the Admins... Anyways, why don't you try a few fights yourself kyo? Don't forget to access your menu mid-combat to employ your skills. I'll be on hand if something goes wrong again."

He leant back against a windmill and got lost in foreboding thoughts.

[Alchemist sephiroth]

kyo nodded and approched a magic ring and an minic apperred slashing at it a few times kyo opened his skills menu and selected fire dance!
'Fire dance!' slashing with fire daggers rapidly asthought it was a dance kyo easily defeated the minic it faded body left a blue tresure chest kyo shouted over to negabalmung 'What do i do with this blue tresure chest? should i open it?'

[Black Wing]

NegaBalmung was jolted out of his train of thought as kyo shouted to him. He lunged forward, catching kyo and staying between him and the chest.

"Leave it! That one isn't safe, it's booby-trapped! If you open it as is you won't be very happy."

Drawing a shimmering wire he laid it over the seam between the lid and body of the chest. The chest flashed and switched to a yellow colour.

"Next time we're in town you should pick up some Fortune Wire. It's pretty cheap, and you're gonna need TONS of it. It'll make Risky Treasure Boxes safe to open. Go ahead and do it now, the spoils are yours! Though they won't be much good."

The Real World:

Lianne removed her headset briefly. Reaching for a scrap of paper and a pencil she scribbled a note:

'Delta: Bursting Passed Over Aqua Field
Data irregularities, stronger monsters. Report.'

This was where all the trouble began with the Phases... When players were... Could it be starting again? she thought to herself before slipping the headset back on.

The dungeon, maybe something's down there

The World:

NegaBalmung froze for a sew seconds, not a single pixel budged. Then he became animated again.

"When you're done, lets head to the dungeon. The statue at the bottom is where the really good stuff is to be found!"

[Alchemist sephiroth]

kyo nodded as he opened the chest he recvied a health potion turning to negabalmung he nodded agin 'right lets go to the dungon!' begining to walk to the dungon Kyo thought of something what if there was some other stronger force working behind the meaning of the stronger monster?

*Kyo recived a health potion

-blip- 'huh hey i gotta gate out i got e-mail!' kyo told negabalmung entering the menu button he swiched down to gate out and selected it 'bye i hope we can do this someother time!' 3 golden rings surrounded kyo scanning out of the area and warpped him back to town entering the menu agaon he selcted log out.

-real world-

'whoa! i got mail off my bro!' kyoshiro opened up the letter and it read
Dear Big bro Kyo
I was wondering that you hears about the Hacker just be carefull ok. I am bored where are you maybe I can help you know

kyoshiro clicked on the reply button and replyed:

sending the mail to grave kyoshiro accesed the world again.

"Master Grave knows as Kristian mibu is eatting some lunch. He got back to his room and read his email.

"2 hours later Master Grave saw Kyo and he wave to him and said hello"

kyo walked over to grave and hugged him 'borther! the hacker hum! i think i rember something from the past versions fo the world but i thought they where just rumors!' kyo walked over to the chaos gate 'hey come one bro! i got some hot areas!'

Master Grave: I am ready to go

kyo nodded he entered the words 'desolote golden hills' it came up with a lvl 15 area 'ok here we go!' pressing the enter button grave and kyo warped to the area the ground was lava hot and molten the sky wass covered in ash using a fairy orb all of the choas gates 'grave do you know any strengthening spells? if you do cast them please!' kyo asked

"G\Master Grave look at him"

Master Grvae: No I don't I am healer and attacker sorry My brother

"Master Grave gets ready for battle. Then a monster came out and starts attacking"

'damn it! earth weak against wood! damn i don't have any wood speels!' slashing at the monster kyo and grave soon defeated it dropping dead kyo got enoguh experiance to lvl up

'heh guess i should work on my character a bit more!'

Master Grave: Ya you should my character is level 35 you want to know where si the some strong monster are Big Bro

Master grave: oh ya here Big Brother your new armor

"He gave him a strong armor to help with battles."

Master Grave: This armor can heal you while you fighting or walking around if you get hurt.

'thanks i owe ya one bro!' acepting the armor kyo equipped it imeadiately it began to heal him 'whoa this is way cool!' right lets go the grave!

"They want off trainning for 2 hours of train his brother want 19 levels up. Grave was happy that his brother was happy."

Master Grave: You better fighter then me Big Brother here you can have my spear if you like

[Black Wing]

NegaBalmung stared blankly at where kyo had been minutes before.

"*sigh* Newbies. They come in all varieties! If it was anyone I knew I'd be put out. Well, no harm in hittin' the dungeon and seeing what's up."

There didn't seem to be anything wrong with the dungeon until the Gott Statue. Upon leaving the chamber another magic portal appeared.

What the? I just cleared that one. he thought. The portal flashed in weird colours before spitting out a... a what? The monster data seemed to keep switching between forms and levels, becoming unhittable in the transitions, inconvenient, as it was in these transitions that most of NegaBalmung's attacks fell.

Turning momentarily into a Headhunter, the bug knocked NegaBalmung against a wall, then changed into a witch-type monster, unleashing a powerful lightning spell - NegaBalmung's weakness. Instead of the usual death animation, NegaBalmung simply fizzed out of the area.

The Real World

Lianne let out a scream and fell backwards from her chair, the cord of the headset growing taut then ripping the headset from her face. Hearing the scream, Lianne's father burst into the room to find her unconscious on the floor, subconsciously muttering 'The World' references in a low voice...

Kyo smerk slightly 'nah it's good my characters a twin blade so i guess only daggers are usable by me!' gateing out from the finished area kyo looked at his wrist 'sh1t bro sorry to do this but i gotta split! i got like 10 minutes to get ready for my friends party! well i'll email ya the next time i'm on! cya!'

-the real world-
loging out of the world kyoshiro ran into the bath room got a quick shower and got dreesed ready for this party leaving within 5 minutes running down the street to his friends house knocking on the door the quiet buzzing of music could be heard over the many people that had already arrived!

"Master Gave is looking around for the hacker but no go. Then eh want back to town."

Master Grave: Maybe I should log out for while and wait

'whoa what happened?' slowly geting out of his bed seveal playing cards where literally glued to his face with drool picking them off he picked up the phone and dialed kristan's house number in the phone rang 3 times and some one picked up 'hello' it was kyoshiro's mum 'hi mum i was wondering if kristan was up?'

'yes one moment' walking up to kristan his mum shock him getly 'kyoshiro's on the phone for you' walking out of his room his mum went down stairs
