I love this metal band. They took two of the greatest bands ever and combined them into one power metal machine. If you like metal, buy both of their CDs, they pwn you.

That's a good idea. They rule amazingly. My limited editon CD still hasn't arrived yet....

I love Blind Guardian to death, especially Hansi Kursch. Don't really like Iced Earth though, don't like the vocalist(s) that much, music's pretty though. I think it's telling that my favourite song of theirs was the cover of Highway to Hell they did.
I love Demons & Wizards with a passion though, got both albums after hearing Fiddler on the Green and seeing the Touched by the Crimson King album in MVC (I'm a fan of the dark tower series so it caught my eye).

Blind Guardian 10/10 (second best power band around)
Demons & Wizards 8.5/10 (great combo of heavy and power styles)
Iced Earth 6/10 (a little too... brutal for me I suppose, some good stuff though)

DL'd one of their albums just few days ago and well i haven't regretted it.
I'm not a big fan of Blind Guardian and never really listened Iced Earth but i like demons & Wizards.
I've always liked fast paced music ^^ And D&W plays it pretty well :P

Of course. Power metal is fast paced, excluding the occasional ballads. I am a huge fan of it, and D&W is at the top of my list for it.

Demons and Wizards FOR THE WIN!

Isn't their album a concept one? Of The Gunslinger/Dark Tower?

Iced Earth is alright, haven't heard much of Blind Guardian.

Yes, indeed, it is. The cover art certainly shows where they get their ideas.

Iced Earth is decent, but not as good as I thought they'd be. A bit lackluster, IMO, sadly.

Blind Guardian kicks ass. Almost as much as bands like Dragonforce.

I haven't heard Demons and Wizards yet.

Demons and Wizards is best summed up as studio work at its finest. Although I have yet to true classify Iced Earth as power metal, their earlier work is just thrash over the top. Both bands have mellowed down quite a bit, but they're still fricking amazing bands. To put Dragonforce with Blind Guardian is a bit much tho. They're too new, but their sound and fanbase are spectacular. I'd chuck BG with Helloween, Gamma Ray, and Edguy at least. They've been around since 1985, and I think Iced Earth were doing stuff as Purgatory in '89. I saw Blind Guardian with Symphony X, and I was amazed at how well Blind Guardian put on a show. It's easy to call them perfectionists because their work is usually always flawless. Coming from me, I'd recommend Tales From the Twilight World to start with on Blind Guardian, and Night of the Stormrider to start with for Iced Earth. Plus check out ex-Blind Guardian drummer Thomen Stauch's band, Savage Circus. They're right up this alley as well.

Don't break the circle my friends!

Maybe, I just heard Dragonforce and loved them more then any of the other Power Metal bands I've heard. Blind Guardian is still cool no matter who you put them with.

Dragonforce are a bit overrated tho. Their style and sound are brilliant, but guitar shredders can easily wail on a guitar. Listen to Rusty Cooley, Alexi Laiho, Herman Li, and you'll hear the same things. Just a different sound. But what the heck, I love shred metal. And all power metal bands have amazing sing-a-long choruses.

I'd put Rhapsody over Dragonforce. DF's style is too easy to immitate. Rhapsody just appeals to me more. But they are both no match for D&Ws.

Whoa, hold the phone. A concept album about the Dark Tower? Are you sh*ttin' me? I've heard Iced Earth but I've never heard this Blind Guardian you are talking about. Where can I find this album?

We sh1t you negatory.

And it's Demons and Wizards that did the concept album. My fav songs D+W songs would have to be 'Blood on My Hands' or 'The Gunslinger'.

Heh, I'd do the opposite, Rhapsody take themselves way to seriously for me, the damn narrating gets on my nerves too :) They've done some great stuff though, Holy Thunderforce has to be one of my favourite power songs and despite being 20 mins long and as cheesy as hell, I love Gargoyles...

Listening to Rhapsody now, and they are awesome. Dragonforce did introduce me to this genre tho(Power Metal), and they appeal to me a lot more for some reason.

I still have to listen to D&W...

You should also go for Sonata Arctica. They are similar to Demons and Wizards, but have Romance as a lot of the songs instead of fantasy. Though they have some fantasy songs (Fullmoon, Wolf & Raven), they have a lot of romance based stuff, as an example:

"If I was a king, I would give up my kingdom if I could only have her heart....for one more day."
