This is a sign up for a RP that is based on the White Wolf's "World of Darkness" universe. Prior knowledge of the setting is nice but not necessary.
The whole point of the RP is to mimic the conversations on the Hunter-Net forums (just like the story sequences in Hunter books). As such you are free to post any outlandish stories about your exploits against the monsters, but don't be surprised when someone calls BS. Posting inaquarate information is not discouraged, none of the hunters know everything about the monsters and many go by the legends and myths perpatuated by the popular cultre. This relliance on mostly faulty information was a cause of many hunter's demise. Observation and experience are the best tools for combating the unknown.
Background:
World of Darkness is a parallel reality not unlike our own, the same bands are popular, the same events transpire and Monsters exist. We are not talking about "Human Monsters" or Predatory animals, but the monsters of legends and nightmares. Vampires, Warewolfs, zombies, ghosts and all the other things imaginable and inamaginable populate the night and stalk the humanity.

Special powers:
These are the powers that are shared between all Hunters
-Ability to activate a "second sight" that allows a Hunter to percieve a supernatural being. This allows a hunter to find a proverbial "Wolf in Sheep's Cloathing". The hunter can't tell exactly what kind of creature they see, but they know that the person is somewhat wrong.
-Ability to block all mind control powers applied on the particular hunter
-Ability to read and write hunter language, a grafity like symbols that allow hunter to communicate and leave warning
-Hunter's can't be turned into a supernatural creatures
Some Additional powers (exclusive to some hunters)
Excelerating healing
Ability to conjur and dismiss spiritual weapons
Questioning a supernatural without a fear of physical injury
Ability to paralize a supernatural with a gaze for a short amount of time.
Having said that, the hunters are indistinguishable from other humans and that allows them to hunt more efficiently. Ths also means that hunters are as fragile as regular humans.
Hunter-Net is a community that was developed by hunters and it allows communication and information exchange. It is absolutely secure, non hunters are not able to access it. The Network was compromised on at least 2 different ocasions, but lately it was absolutely secure.
I'll be posting as the major characters such as Witness1, Bookwarm 55, Doctor 119, Cabbie 22 and several other characters that will help and keep things interesting.
Naming Conventions, Pick a thing that defines your character and add a number (250+ you are going to be a new hunter).
