What's the funniest manga you've ever read? [Archive]

I remember one of my friends asked me to translate a manga for them because I owed them a favour. Well... when I say "Translate" I mean that I was given the English translation and I had to put it on the actual manga in the speech bubbles. Anyway, this manga was called "Attack of the living perverted plants". I was pretty confused, I mean, why would ANYONE call their manga that!?

I read the manga as I translated the story, it's about plants that like human women and they go rampaging around the country in order to get them. The plants can change form and they're sex crazy! The heroine of the manga is called "Sosumi" (So sue me) and the hero is called Justin Time (Just in time). It's really funny, except there are a few hentai bits in it. It's strange how the beams are powerful enough to rip the heroine's clothes off, but not powerful enough to hurt her. I also found that funny.

The funniest manga I've ever read has to be Digi Charat! I epsecially love the cute characters too. They also make the manga funny to read.

Must I repeat myself? My Name is Zushio (http://www.mangascreener.com/project.php?id=6) is the funniest manga I have ever read... actually not the funniest but one of them.

Other funny things are GTO, etc. However, I would like it if less known titles among the generic crowd was to receive some praise. I'm pretty sure nobody here has read My Name is Zushio (http://www.mangascreener.com/project.php?id=6) so I would appreciate it if some of you seeked it out. Even if it costs you your life.

My sisters didn't like it but what would they know. One of them is only into cute artwork, the other is only into shonen jump mangas. They can not appreciate true hilariousness.

I'll have to say Ranma 1/2 (I LOVE Ryoga! He gets lost pretty easy). And Rorouni Kenshin, one the funny sides.

I don't know about Love Hina though. I bought the anime and it sucks. I don't trust myself to buy the manga after that.

Love Hina, and Chobits can be really humorous at times (mostly near the beginning). ^^ Also, Marmalade Boy, and Wish has those adorable little chibi angels/devils...*squeals* Lol.

Dragon Knights. Rath, Thatz, and Rune's wild antics are just downright hilarious. Plus it has a deep plot, so it's not just a bunch of laughs with nothing really amazing going on.

I'd also like to say Vampire Game, but I've only read the first one. Don't know how funny it stays after that.

I found MB very funny, but then again, it's shoujo humor, so you guys may or may not want to look into that...here's a small sampling that is the only one I can *somewhat* accurately remember (keep in mind, our lead female is Miki and our lead male is Yuu...I say nothing more ^.^):

Miki: Have you already taken your shower?
Yuu: Yeah...
Miki: But it's so early...
Yuu: What, did you want to take one with me?
Miki: BAKA!

The 'Marmalade Boy' scene itself is funny too, but that'd be a spoiler in some's eyes. *tries to think of another funny part that is accurately remembered*

Oh, right in the beginning... (Rumi is Miki's mom, Jin is her dad, and <3 is a heart mark)

Rumi: We're getting...
Jin: ...a divorce. <3

And then a couple pages later, Miki is explaining the situation to a friend...

Miki: And can you believe they used a "<3" mark at the end of their sentence?!

Meh, why am I bothering, you all probably don't want to hear it anyways. :? But it would be a good idea to give a small, few lines long sampler from the manga too. :wink: (But then, if it's TokyoPop, you can go to their website and get the first 8 pages of ANY of their mangas as a preview...)

No, ive read what you've posted, i was wondering where to get the azumangah daion manga, im still a rookie at reading japanese, so i'll only get part of it...anyways, if the manga has already been published as an english version it would help, i would understand it better. Actually, i would read those, but i dont think they're in english...so, it wouldnt be that funny for me

Sorcerer Hunters is pretty funny. When they are all in the Hot Springs and Carrot tries to sneak into the girls hot spring but ends up in the old lady's one intstead. I laughed so hard then. Carrot has a lot of good moments like that. :P Gotta love those perverts.
I read that Sorceror Hunters! Number 3, right? That was wicked funny! Ahahahahaha! Ha.. Ha.. Heh... *Ahem* I can't decide what my favorite manga is-it's between Excel Saga, Ranma 1/2, Love Hina, Crayon Shinchan and Sorceror Hunters. :lol: :lol: :lol:

ic... Well, you don't need to understand Japanese really to understand Azumanga. The entire volumes are just made up of 4-panel gags. The pictures are pretty self-explanatory in most of the panels too. However, there are some panels that require a bit of reading but they're not too hard. I mean, I don't even know Japanese and I was able to read 75% of it... Of course, understanding is another thing.

Well, I hear Excel Saga's been licensed... It's not as great as what most people say it is.. but it's pretty funny too. It doesn't really get good until volume 2 though in my opinion. Anyways, read it. It doesn't make as much sense as Love Hina and GTO.. but that's the idea.

BTW, you can find english scanslations of the ones I listed online. All you have to do is look around. If you're too busy to do that then.. forget it. *cough*PM*cough*

Yeah, the Excel manga isn't as funny as I thought it would be, either-but It has it's moments like this:

From what I read, I'd say One Peice from Shonen Jump.
Luffy tried to reach this pelican with his gum gum power, and instead got caught in the bird's mouth, which carried him all the way to the next town. Also, when he and Nami were talking was hilarious as well.
