Have you guys heard of Yasutaka Tsutsui's new film PAPRIKA? I saw their trailer on youtube.
The soundtrack is by Susumu Hirasawa. Does anyone know what else he's done?
Btw: I heard that Paprika the movie is as fascinating as the soundtrack..

Uhhh he just wrote the book. The film is directed by Satoshi Kon. Considering Perfect Blue was awesome, I will be getting this once there's DVDs since it probably won't be at any theaters near me.

Yeah, this is being referred to as Kon's next big thing. I'm hoping for a local release, but not holding my breath. I'll definitely pick up the dvd when it comes out, but I'd love to see it in a theater.

I'll be watching this for sure. I am a fan of Satoshi Kon's other works such as Paranoia Agent and Metropolis. I haven't seen some of his other work, but I plan on renting Tokyo Godfathers this week. Paprika looks really good, or at least from what I have seen of the trailers. The buzz about it has been positive, which makes me more excited for the film to be released in North America.
I just got the soundtrack, by Susumu Hirasawa, and it’s fabulous. Has anyone heard it? If the movie is half as exciting as the music, it’s gonna be awesome.

Apparently, well at least according to reviewers, they thought the music was excellent, but underused. Satoshi Kon supposedly didn't use that much music, when it could of been added to make certain scenes better. The OP song is amazing IMO.

I saw it. It was amazing. Better than Tokyo Godfathers I think. Contrary to popular belief it also has a fairly coherent story.
There are also some really frekin' funny scenes.

The soundtrack for 'Paranoia Agent'.
I'm excited because it just opened by me, I'm going to see it soon.

Yeah, I really like it. Did you know they made ringtones of Parade and Mediational Field?
The soundtrack for 'Paranoia Agent'.
I've heard a lot of good things about that; I'm going to rent it.

I have heard of it. I wanted to go see it, but unfortunately it is not playing anywhere near me, so I will have to wait until it comes out on DVD. Too bad, I have still never seen anime in an actual theater before.

I just found out that this is not only showing where I live, it will be in the theater that I can walk to. Which is much better than the one across town that would take a special trip and an hour in the car to get to. Now I've got to find a babysitter so I can go.
Anybody watch kids?
