New Unique Anime Suggestions

I'm looking for new shows that are thought provoking, emotional, thrilling, action packed, interesting, and unique. Any shows out there following these guidelines? I would appreciate any good suggestions. :D

I have plenty of recommendations but, could you tell me what animes you have already seen? Also what was your favorite and for what reasons? This way i could narrow my list to something you may have interest in.

Sure, I've seen Naruto, Dragon Ball/Z/GT, Bleach, One Piece, Hellsing, Gundam SEED/Destiny, Gunbuster, Diebuster, Rurouni Kenshin-Reminiscence, Full Metal Alchemist, Death Note, Elfen Lied, Afro Samurai Cowboy bebop and Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien just to name a few. my favorite animes are Death Note for the great story and character development. Afro Samurai for the cool battles and Elfen Lied because of it's general awesomeness :)

I think generally Code Geass would suit your tastes and it those categories.
Gundam00 too if you want a more mature Gundam series than SEED.

If you are looking for original ideas and don't mind insane crazy-ness that defies the powers of god, and I put it that way because it is truely the most insane anime ever then watch Excel Saga every 10 seconds is a different story. But seriously I just watched an anime called Noein which had great plot, good action, cool characters, serious overtones, and was intellectually entertaining, but you should probably download it cause it was great but watching it once was enough for me. Also Trigun and Darker than Black come to mind. And you like a lot of stuff I do so I am going to recommend Scryed and Tenjou Tenge because I love them dearly. And if you don't like Excel Saga don't count that, because it was to crazy for me to enjoy it very much. :)

Try Kurozuka and Moryo no Hako, both are new anime just starting in Japan.

This is about Kurozuka which has great action and tons of gore.

You should watch:
1.Death Note [doesn't have ALOT of action but it's extremley unique]
2. Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle [Fantasy, Romance, Adventure and has alot of action]
3. Bleach [Obviously the best, it has a ton of blood and so much action]
4. Full Metal Alchemist

Hoist the flag of epic manliness! Thank god you didn't put down serious as a requirement. Think of it as Diebuster with guys and lots and lots and lots of testosterone , and you'll have the general idea. Also, the bad guys are furrys. An added bonus as far as I am concerned.

Mushishi, Haibane Renmei, and Kino's Journey are some of the more unique anime, in my opinion, but I'm not sure if they're what you're looking for, considering the list you gave. Maybe Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann?
