*Third Adaption of the manga Minami-ke
This school-aged slice-of-life comedy follows the lives of the three Minami sisters: Haruka (oldest), Kana (the middle child), and Chiaki (youngest). This will be the second season produced by Asread, the first having been handled by Doumu.
I really enjoyed the first season, dropped the Second Season but finished it much later and I still enjoyed it.. even though I initially thought it was a failure. The ending for Okawari was pretty damn good and sort of dramatic; I just hope this one can live it up.

I don't know where the S2 dislike comes from, I enjoyed both seasons equally and didn't bother thinking of the art change.
Looking forward to Okaeri though, especially after the trailer. More Haruka is never wrong <3
YES, WE CAN.

I watched the first episode and it was pretty good. The animation is still bubbly, but it's changed from Okawari (I'd say it's better). One notable difference is that Haruka looks like an actual teenager, as they made her shorter and her face appear less mature.

Episode 1:
A great opener to the series. I especially like the opening and ending themes. The last 10 minutes or so was the funniest parts though. ^^

Ep 1, laughing all way through. Usually a good sign as I don't care that much about art or animation. I just think it looks perfectly acceptable.
Especially the last segment was hilarious with pen thing. If Kana
had said "Matchmaking" with a *thumbs up*, I would have been on the floor. In cramps.

Episode 1 was as expected good, and funny. I think they went overboard with the glow on the palette, it was hurting my eyes. Strange they had the credits running in the middle of the video...poor Uncle, Kana is as blunt and funny as ever, and Chiaki's clever insights are always good.

Another anime I need to catch up on! I'm also a big fan of Kana. She's too adorable.

In an attempt to start some level of discussion, I'm going to change my posting format. Excuse me if I seem a bit random here. ^^
What do you think about the Animation quality and Character development in the Minami-ke series so far? It's been 2 full seasons and an episode (27 in total) and there ought to be some difference between the two. I'm talking about everything here, the changing of companies animating, the characters (the main characters being the Minami-ke and side characters such as the awesome Hosaka).
Personally I believe that the Animation quality improved over Season 2. In this, the new company took a big leap of faith by not-so-subtly changing the standard of the animation as compared to Season 1. And character-wise, after all the trouble and daily life, the Minami-ke grew up I think. Chiaki is not as insulting as she was, Kana matured (even if it's a tiny bit ), and Haruka is as what she is (gentle, mother-like figure etc.). They also grew to appreciate each other as shown in the last few episodes of Minami-ke ~Okawari~ when
Situations suggests that Haruka is leaving abroad so Kana and Chiaki had to live by themselves. The dramatic end when they all had a group hug whilst blinded by tears was pretty touching.
Minor-characters-wise, Hosaka is as awesome as he ever was. XD
Your thoughts?

Woah, Opace is a mod now? ^^
Anyway, I loved this series and I was so excited when I heard when there was going to be a third season. But when I saw some screens and the trailer along with some bad reviews I began to worry. Sure enough, the art has changed pretty drastically as it did from season 1 to 2 but I, personally, don't mind it as much as I thought. As long as they keep the laughs and the characters stay the way their supposed to, I'm sure it'll be another great addition to Minami-ke.
As for the characters themselves, they all have such different personalities that it leaves you in suspense as to what will happen in the next episode. Chiaki's temper has somewhat calmed since the first season which is a bit of a let-down to me. But as long as Kana is up to her old antics, Chiaki will always have a comeback for her.
Agreeing with Opace on Haruka. She's the character that really hasn't changed much during the series. Although, it's best to keep her that way. It is always funny when her anger does show. (In Okaeri when Kana ate her expensive ice cream) xD
Minor characters: Must keep Hosaka and Mako-chan! They're probably the most unpredictable characters in the show and I sure hope they keep it that way for this season. Hosaka already got his debut in the first episode so I'm awaiting the return of Makoto. ^^

Yeah I know, sent me for a whirl too. XD
Makoto? He's dead and buried in Minami-ke.. it's just Mako-chan from now on. I feel sorry for him, but his antics are still funny. ^^

First episode was awesome!! Now I'd like to point out Chiaki's new behavior towards Kana. In the first two seasons I sensed Chiaki hated Kana, a lot. Her hate towards Kana made me dislike her. Now in this season she appears more patient but also serious when it comes to Kana's crazy antics. Even though Chiaki didn't seem to spend much time with Haruka in the episode, it made her look like she isn't that big of a lesbian towards her older sister. Yes that's right, I always thought she wanted to finger Haruka's sugar bowl. Anyway, good comedy and decent art, I loved the OP more than the ED but that is usually what I think. I hope more characters come in to play again soon such as Touma's brothers, I don't remember seeing them on the second season at all.

Hosaka was pure win this ep. I usually thought he was kinda lame, in the prior season, but he really went from kinda low to awesome here. The whole "Befriending" session and the curry song was pure comedy.
The thing that topped it off was Chiaki also singing it. So darn cute
Now I'm only waiting for a duet between them...zomg

Episode 2:
Great episode. Hosaka just never ceases to amuse me with his antics. His singing was pretty good though. :o
Episode 3:
The pudding part at the start was all right I suppose, but nothing special. Likewise with the apples. The curry part was pretty funny I find; but the best part was definitely the end.
No Hosaka this episode though.

Ep 3 ending was no doubt the best in this ep, even if Uchida's part was quite funny too. The whole ending was laugh-fest for me when I had no idea why he did it. The brothers are win.
The curry part was kinda predictable, but I find it quite funny there too. Not in the same class as the rest though.

Hmm...this seems like a very interesting anime. I've written it on my "List of anime to watch." So, I'll probably end up watching it, because of all the good reviews it is getting.

Episode 4:
This episode was hilarious. The legendary Iron Claw. XD Just proves Haruka is indeed awesome. The picture scenes were pretty funny. But at last Hosaka made his appearance towards the end. I sort of felt sorry for him a bit. But damn, I hate Hitomi's voice; doesn't fit at all into the role; I wonder what the company was on when they picked her.
But Natsuki gave Touma an umbrella. An odd gift.
Just a little, a tiny little bit of fanservice next episode? ;)

Touma is awesome, I couldn't help but laugh when she head-butted Kana.
GIVE ME BACK MY SNACKS!
The idea as the family unit as a pack of wild dogs was also amusing. I like Hitomi and I think her voice is cute! Her choice of umbrella was very nice. Pink. Bunnies.
I liked this episode better than the last, and I also liked the developing love triangle. I hope it gets even more complicated.

Episode 5:
Another funny episode. At the start it was mainly focused on Chiaki with her antics about swimming. Then we get a brief view of Haruka and then Kana. As usual, the best was the last 10 minute sor so where Kana just couldn't understand the blatant nudging they were giving her. XD
Next episode promises even more fanservice; the obligatory Beach episode !

Episode 6: I think this is the first appearance of Mako-chan in this series.

Episode 07 also concentrated on Mako-chan, funny i think he looks better as a girl. BUT wow he got to see Haruka in a bra! No nosebleed? Guess he's still young. :P
Also, i noticed they're not doing the art change with the eyes when they do a close up. I thought that was better than just a close up on their regular eyes...

Episode 10 yeah it was pretty funny. Love the sound that they did whenever he smiled. Also, now i know why Chiaki always sits on Fujioka's lap. Don't they look cute together?
