At first it seemed like he was sort of satirizing "bad boy" rappers (with "My Name Is..."). And he seemed to reaffirm that with "Stan," this stuff isn't for real. But in his more recent songs it seems like he's almost believing or at least expecting listeners to believe these things.

To be honest, I've never listened to a whole Eminem album, so I can't really grasp his ideology.
