Nope, I haven't hecked there I don't think. I will though. I'd like zori this time instead of geta. I'm going to use my geta for graduation as long as I feel comfortable in them. henh

Dunno if you checked karankoron.com or not. I get my geta from that guy, and he has a large variety of styles and you can pick from a selection of hanao. They carry bigger sizes pretty often.

When I get my kimono on, I will. I'm debating getting stuff to dress it up any. Maybe one of the floral pins I found in stores near me. If they were knitted, that'd be nice too.

I'd like to order a furisode from him someday, once I've got the money for one, to have as a keepsake for my future daughter or daughter-in-law. I want to collect antiques, but I plan on living overseas and don't want to bring my current ones with me. I'm worried over how I'll manage to store away a furisode and all my kimono because I don't want to wrinkle them badly. :/ Since I'm going to university, I need them stored in a way to keep them unwrinkled. I wonder if there is anyway to set up for the museum to take in some of the vintage items when I do go.. They have a lot of things Japanese there, so I'm just wondering if there's anywhere they could store them for me and I could pay them.

Shipping for him usually costs 16$, but it arrives lightning quick. He shipped my item on Monday, but it came in the mail today. Normally it takes ten working days for anything from Asia to come in the mail for me, but I think he must have a pretty good way of mailing it quick.

Yeah, I can, but I'm just worried about my kimono and obi that way because of the silk. We don't have a hand held steamer yet but my mom plans on buying one soon. The material of the yukata makes it easy for the fabric to wrinkle. I'm just worried about using my iron since it's an old iron, it's been around for about as long as I have, the back part covering the water is lost and it leaves a not-so-good smell. So I guess I'll just wait on the steamer.

I think we're going to notify him, or at least let him know this time next week if he hasn't realized. My mom is just worried about whether or not to ship it back. She doesn't want to pay for it, but she doesn't want him to either. She'd rather just pay the 60$ for it. I'd like to order new geta too, but sadly not from him, since my feet are a little too big for the ones he sells. But his geta are super nice.

Can't you steam the wrinkles out of them, via an iron or hand held steamer?

I know on delicate fabrics you can put a thick towel over the item, then use an iron on its steam setting to get the wrinkles out.

Tough decision about shipping the item back. I would just let him know, and most likely he will just say to keep it if you have been a prior customer. Shipping is pretty bad, I know when I order my geta the shipping is like 45 bucks.

Should also mention if my kimono wrinkled, I would cry, because I don't want it to lose its old smell. It's not musty, kind of... softly perfumed. It's so beautiful. T_T But I'm worried on what to do with my obi and yukata.

But Templar, I don't like porn or cigarettes (ew), and.. what about the last one?? o.O

Techincally, being 18 just makes me happy enough that now I have a say in my life for once. :') And no, my boyfriend is a good boy/man-thing. But he did decide not to get me the poster of my favourite idol. XD

Aish, Snap, I HOPE I can get a high paying job, but I really don't believe in working just for money. :') My intent after university is to take a course on teaching English as a second language and going to two or so countries to teach (looking at South Korea. I've been doing a lot of research for two years now. Plus many people I know who have gone loved teaching at public schools there). I'd love to teach in my boyfriend's home country, but the pay is too low for me to be able to pay off my university debt (maybe someday, even for a little while). I don't plan on doing that forever, just until I can get that debt lifted (and so I don't have to buy a freakin' car).
