Not just those types of bots, but things like Googlebot, and other web crawlers.

No, I think they want to check out this site before they become part of the community. At least that's what I read from some of the new members at the intro forum. I didn't do that when I joined, so what I saw was what I got. There is also spam artists to consider as well.

I have A few theories about who those guests are...all they do is make our active user count look much more than there is in reality.
