Dragon Ball Gets 1st New TV Anime in 18 Years in July. The story of the anime is set a few years after the defeat of Majin Buu, when the Earth has become peaceful once again.

    Gunbuster fans, rejoice!

    GAINAX and Bandai Visual just brought some good news about the series. A bright and happy way to start the New Year as Aim for the Top! Gunbuster (or Top wo Nerae) will start its new serialization this January 1, 2011.

    Gunbuster is from the creative mind of Neon Genesis Evangelion maker Hideaki Anno.
    It was released in 1988 and had six OVA (Original Video Animation). The story follows the life of a school girl named Noriko Takaya who wants to pursue the footsteps of her father Admiral Yuzo Takaya. To do so, she had to learn how to pilot the Gunbuster, a machine made to fight aliens in space. Unlike Neon Genesis Evangelion, the pilots in Gunbuster are female.







    Nothing much was revealed about the series revival but fans are assured they’re in for a treat next year.

      Oh yay! I remember watching Gunbuster back in high school, really good series. I can't wait to see the new one and tie it in with Gunbuster 2
