Popular ongoing Weekly Shonen Jump manga-turned-anime Bakuman will have the honor as the first anime where the great Hyde will voice act.
Hyde of Japan’s famous rock unit, VAMPS graced the studio last December 13 to record the voice of his character who also shares the same name. He will play as ‘Hyde’, the producer of Koogy (voiced by Morikubo Shoutaro). Everyone might only remember Koogy’s character, a very egoistic over-the-top rock fashioned and accessories clad musician-mangaka who believes his manga is that popular because of his powerful musical popularity, but not Hyde’s. His character is yet to appear in the anime.
Aside from voicing acting, Hyde also translated Koogy’s song in the anime titled ‘Get Up’. The song was from VAMPS’ 2nd album ‘Beast’. Originally, the song was in English but Hyde translated it to Japanese for the anime. The Japanese version of ‘Get Up’ will be covered by Hyde and will be included in VAMPS’ new single titled ‘Memories’ which was released last December 15.
The broadcast date for the episode of Hyde’s appearance on Bakuman will be announced on the January 17th edition of Weekly Shonen Jump.
Some said that hearing the news of Hyde's participation, they'll start to watch the anime and see how their idol will fair. Let's see if his first attempt in voice acting will be successful.
