  • Original Piano Composition - Shooting Stars

Thought it was time to compose another piece. Kept the melody pretty simple in this one, but it's been a few weeks since I really came up with anything. Anyway, feedback/suggestions or whatever is appreciated.

This is really good! Sorry, but I don't have a good grasp on musical feedback or opinions but honestly, this was a pleasure to listen to. I think you should be proud of this work.

There was something extremely satisfying about this song for me. The simple melody combined with the rolling bass notes in the left hand made for a really good song. If I were to improve upon it, I'd probably add some sort of harmonizing background instrument, such as vocals or chello, maybe some killer violin licks during the chorus.

But I really liked it. I could feel it painting a picture in my imagination as I was listening to it. Making it really alive in my mind. Great work.

      Magical.

I really love the gentle touch the melody has. If you compose more of similar pieces, let us know!

I have about zero musical knowledge, so I can't offer feedback. But I can say, I like it!

Thanks. I agree that some background instruments would fit pretty well. I think I might add some for my next composition. I mainly do solo piano but I've done one or two orchestral pieces and it'd be interesting to combine the two. I definitely think some violins would sound nice.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll be glad to share more once I've finished working on them.

I hadn't the time to listen to this earlier due to extensive work on my own project. (of which so little has been puplished thus far ) But now that I have I gotta say: I really like it. It's beautiful and touching theme that somehow manages to be both melancholy and uplifting at the same time. At least that's how I perceive it but then I'm no expert when it comes to music.

On that same note: if I may suggest one minor point of improvement (and trust me it's a minor thing) I thought you could;ve ended a bit more strongly. Not by some bombastic orchestra hat would've ruined the theme though. I mean you could've for instance held the last key a bit longer let that final tone resonate. Or something...idk...like I said I'm no expert. It's just that as a listerner I felt it fizzled out a bit by the end.

That being siad though this is really good stuff as far as I'm concerned. Professional level in fact. Have you ever thought of doing soundtracks. Your music has a very strong narative quality to it. I'm no expert in music but I am a bit of an expert when it comes to screenwriting and listening to your theme I could already picture a scene to go along with it.

Again though I might be entirely barking up the wrong tree here but it might be worth checking out.

Btw: totally off topic but I just wanna say I love your avatar and signature. Kino's Journey is one of my favourite shows too.

Thanks, I agree with you on the ending, I did mean to let the last notes ring out for longer but I accidentally let go of the chord too soon, but yes I could have worked on the ending.

I'd actually love to do soundtracks. I listen to a lot of video game OST's so sometimes I try and get some inspiration from those.

Also yeah, Kino's Journey is one of my favourite anime. It's a really clever show, I've read most of the Light Novels too.
