stupid things

i know this rant is about movies but has nothing to due with real movies more so it has to do with a troll movie loosely based on 4chan yes 4chan if you have no clue what 4chan is i then this blog isnt for you but for those who do know can already tell what a horrible idea it is i wont even mention the chatroulete part i wont do another rant about using memes in real life or in movies again because it gives me a headache any how heres the entire summary i found LE MONKEYFACE

The only person with any background was the main character, and most of that was introduced seemingly on the go to further the plot.2) Jump scares. Jump scares everywhere. Each one more predictable than the last. They have the mirror look away and look back, the Scooby Doo "he went in that door- OH **** HE CAME OUT A DIFFERENT DOOR!", constantrandom appearances in the most obvious places, and, my personal favorite, a dream ending in a jump scareleading into another dream ending in a jump scare. A dream within a dream. Yup.
The tension in the film amounts to college lectures with no real plot significance, but they put spooky music in the background while the professor was speaking.
3) A plot development nightmare. The myth of Smiley supposedly originated on /b/, however /b/ is not involved with Smiley. At all. He appears in video chats, not on the /b/ boards. Mentioning /b/ by name was in no way necessary, and really makes no sense to me.
Love develops between two characters who have talked to each other a total of three times, one lasting all of 20 seconds and another culminating in a fight. But he got her a laptop, so everything was cool.
I can't even begin to get into the plot holes, but the first part of the ending made almost everything significant that had happened so far make no sense and essentially impossible, and the second part of the ending just decided to throw the first part out the window completely I guess.
Smiley was just all of the people that Smiley had "killed," or basically an extremely elaborate prank pulled on a girl essentially for no reason. Literally everyone was in on it. Ashley ****ing shot one of them, but I guess they planned for that because, even though the guy she shot was bleeding from a bullet wound, they explained it away by saying that the fake blood and latex that one of the "Smiley's" cut wasn't real. In other words, they just ignored the gunshot wound. Then, the finale was a real Smiley appearing and actually killing someone, completely dismissing the fact that Smiley was solely a prank created by these kids. Also, did I mention that one of the fake killings the kids pulled was on a random person who could have been anywhere in the country on Chatroullete? Because that totally happened.


And then there are the small things that annoy me to no end, including a girl going from "about to pass out due to a roofied drink" to "full sprint and able easily outrun her pursuer" in about 3 seconds flat and why the hell is a guy with essentially no face always wearing a stocking over his head?
I could probably go on, but this is already a lot longer that I intended, but I just had to share my thoughts on this. I would leave it alone if it was at least mediocre, but this is just one of the most disappointing things I've ever watched. And still, maybe I'm completely wrong and it's a great film to everyone else and I'm just being an idiot, and I encourage to to at least watch it and tell me if you agree or not, but I would encourage you to not buy a ticket to go see it in theaters.
