Making Beer
|
The process is pretty simple. You do some boiling of different ingredients and add yeast to ferment and stow it away in a carboy to do its magic in a cool place (Namely your closet or basement so the boogeyman can get to work).
After the first stage of that's done. You can proceed to bottling it. This will be my very first batch I've ever made with my friends who are also my roommates. The one thing that bugged me was the prepping as I was paranoid out of my mind trying to make sure it was all sanitized so as not to contaminate my precious nectar.
I spent a wooly 6 to 7 hours trying to prep and bottle our very first batch. One thing that bugged me was that our bottling bucket had a v e r y small leak around the spigot. Gods that was annoying. Didn't have any plumbers tape so I had to run down to the Hardware store for some. Easily killed an hour of my time. After that was all done. Then it one to getting everything together.
Then unbeknownst to me, someone comes knocking on my door. Someone who I have very small respect for. He has some humor that I can't help but laugh to but he's a perverted pathological lying bastard. Oh well. I do my best to be respectful of him. He hasn't done anything to get on my bad side, but I'm rolling no red carpet for him.
Anyways he helped us out with bottling our first batch of beer for which I was thankful for. Six to seven hours later we have ourselves 48 bottles of (hopefully) tasty Red Ale waiting for us a couple weeks from now.
Cheers!
