First off, a friendly hello to everyone and or anyone viewing this, and second, yes this is my second blog post and yes it is another review! I love reviews and this is an easy way for me to do it haha! For my second review I have another hidden gem, Jyu-Oh-Sei: Planet of the Beast King for those who haven't heard of it, here's a brief synopses: "Thor and his twin brother, Rai, are cast off to a forsaken planet by unknown masked men after witnessing the suspicious death of their parents. Given only a beam knife and a smelly satchel, they wander together in search of civilization on the primarily plant based world. They soon discover the plants have the advantage. Only the strong survive; the ones who throw away their humanity and become the beasts humans once were."

As far as popularity and being well known, Jyu-Oh-Sei is a hidden gem, and that's why whenever I get the opportunity to recommend watching it to someone, I always do. Jyu-Oh-Sei is a short anime being that it's only 11 episodes, but it's a surprising and in depth one, that keeps you on your toes the entire time. The story kicks off with two twin brothers that are young and just entering their teenage years and are abandoned and kept imprisoned on a planet after the death of their parents. It starts as a test of survival and a test of brotherhood with Thor, the elder brother being the protagonist but it makes a swift change into an action packed nature/action/drama movie flick that turns into a great space operation. There is no way to get bored in this anime, the plot expands to relationships, genetics, politics and more.
The characters of this anime to simply put it are real, relatable, completely interesting on all levels. Every person has an agenda of their own accord, all of them have a brain and know how to use it, there are no dumb people, some are more open then others but all are very well developed considering it's only 11 episodes. There are no useless characters, all have their place, even the plants are characters with a real purpose! The art style is very likable and overall very good, in some places it loses it's sharpness, but the main quality is good. In this anime they keep talking about how good the main character looks, I mean they really talk him up, but that's because he really does look gorgeous and exotically beautiful. This anime may seem fast pace, then again it is relatively short but the characters do age and they age wonderfully well, it doesn't look bizarre or unrealistic. The anime music in my opinion is very memorable, the opening and closing theme songs fit the anime very well, and they were actually good songs, so they aren't memorable in a bad way haha. The sound effects may not be as memorable but they were still overall very good.
When it comes to the enjoyment factor of this anime all I can say is it's extremely enjoyable! I was very sad when it was over and I craved more, this could have been longer, easily at least 24-26 episodes if not more. I accidentally found this anime and I am sure glad that I did, it's a wonderful hidden gem that I think everyone should at least give it a try. I also would like to add that I think this anime is one that is easily overlooked and underrated, I hope more people will watch it after reading this![]()
