I don't celebrate Christmas because it's never been a custom observed by my religion. But after this year I am pretty sure I'll want to celebrate it or at least give it a try for two reasons.

Today around 2 PM my Aunt received round 12 of ECT in about a month's time. I know I've demonized it a little in previous posts and am aware of the stigma associated with it but... part of the reason my Aunt has survived 12 rounds of this procedure is because her mental condition is too advanced for the normal number of treatments to work. It's unprecedented for someone to undergo this many rounds in such a short time with little to no effect (positive or otherwise). It's like she's immune to it. So my Aunt's going to stop after this. She's annoyed by the trips and the table, and what have you. She's coming to Philadelphia, PA in about a month to spend more time with family because she's normally better when she's with us.

So next year around Christmas time I'd like to go to a bar with my Aunt. The second reason I may consider celebrating Christmas is because of A4. Because of the Duck Dynasty thread, next year, and pretty much any other time it's acceptable to, I'm going to wish more people had common sense. Or that people with access to the internet also know how to use it to educate themselves a little.

The absolute most outrageous and irrelevant thing to be posted by far was Broch's mention about drugs being the downfall of African American communities in the US. WHAT?!?! I realize many people think slavery has nothing to do with how minorities in American currently fare and that's fine. People capable of thought are entitled to their opinions. But there is no alternate way of saying that that will get me to believe it.

It's not like African Americans came to the US willingly, packed a go bag full of fresh drugs, settled down, and created drug dynasties. They were kidnapped, enslaved, and died a torturous death. Unless of course they died being transported to their new home aka America. And yeah, technically slavery ended a few centuries ago, but it wasn't until within the past 100 years that the constitution could be amended so African Americans could be treated freely in the US and have the same access to education and jobs as the White majority. All of this is to say that if drugs are a problem in the Black community it's not because they brought it on themselves. And if they did, they were either being experimented on and that's why they had access or it was available to the majority first and then made available to them.

And then there were the posts about liberals this and liberals that but I'm willing to bet body parts you can't get one singular definitive answer on what a liberal is. Because whatever the **** they think it is, it damn sure doesn't coincide with what I know it is, nor is it particularly relevant in light of Kuroi's posts. So any one who protests an injustice is a liberal and has really sensitive feelings. Those people also have body parts that were probably bruised at one point because they were different. They just need "tough skin." If this is a matter of ideals why the **** do they need "tough skin." So the people with harmful ideas can beat them up but not kill them?

Maybe it's because I'm a girl or something but I feel especially offended and emotional when I read that kinds of ****. Not because it's sad but because I'm using an internet forum and the people posting with me aren't using the internet to it's full potential and spew rhetoric that if intelligible is a step back to the stone ages? What makes matters worse is that for centuries and still in even to this day in parts of the world, people believe women are inferior to men. You couldn't tell by that thread. Maybe you could. BuddyLee probably had as many "WTF" moments as I did.

I dunno any more. So yeah, for sure next year for Christmas I'm definitely wishing for more common sense for everyone around the globe. I have o high expectations since I've been wishing that many times over the years on random days and it hasn't happened yet. Maybe Santa will pull through.
