Red Wing boots instant hardening met don't work

My brother has a pair of Red Wing work boots that cost $240, they supposedly have a metatarsal guard which is supposed to protect the top of the foot. These particular boots aside from the steel toe are soft and the met guard he was told would stiffen up in nano seconds of an impact.

So I convinced him we should test them out I was initially gonna use a 40lb steel dumbbell but we settled on a empty 1/2 gallon plastic Smirnoff bottle 3/4 full of change which weighs over 10lbs. I more propelled it downward than dropped it from about 3 1/2ft cap first for maximum impact.

It was instantly and hilariously obvious his metatarsal didn't work as intended he actually said he felt sick to his stomach it hurt so bad about 10minutes later he had a pretty good red knot on his foot. I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. So anyway if you need metatarsal protection in your boots Red Wing 10 inch teflon cap toed work boots failed my field testing.

Everyone knows the best way to test safety shoes is to have someone drive over them in a car or FLT.

    Do it again.
