I mean, a lot of people are of the opinion that Kotonoha is just a poor, sweet, innocent baby, but the VN reveals that she’s hiding a truly massive manipulative and cruel streak behind her demure demeanor.

And honestly, while Sekai is perfectly capable of some nasty s***, she doesn’t do that nearly as badly or often as Kotonoha does.

Essentially, Kotonoha is genuinely nice and caring. But only as long as she gets what she wants herself.

As soon as something threatens the relationship between her and her totally perfect-in-every-way boyfriend, she gets nasty quick. And by nasty, I’m talking about extremely manipulative behaviour, death threats, outright rape and general jerk behaviour.

If she’s just under the impression that Makoto is having an affair, she’ll blame herself for not being enough of a slut (no seriously, this thing is chock-full of all sorts of disturbing implications) and move towards more sex with Makoto, which she may or may not outright force upon Makoto.

Did those Kotonha fanboys just happen to take stupid pills when they treat her like a saint? I'm playing through about 3-4 endings by now, and more than half of the times, Kotonoha just came across as exactly the kind of manipulative slut described here,

in either the "Bavarois" ending where she tried to seduce Makoto with her tits, or the "With Honesty" ending where she threatened to kill herself if Makoto chooses Sekai over her. And then of course, there's the ending pointed out by Sir. Argues-A-Lot in the same tumblr post:

Of course, the worst part is that this route eventually leads to the path where Kotonoha stays an extremely clingy mess, but because Nanami and Hikari end up bullying her (Behind Sekai’s back, and Nanami involves the entire girls’ basketball club in it, so yeah, Nanami really is an a**hole), this can either lead with Kotonoha telling Sekai she’s sawry (Bloody Ending), or Kotonoha being absolved from all her actions and Sekai being blamed for everything Nanami and Hikari did. Because Kotonoha can’t be happy unless Sekai’s life is completely ruined.

So essentially, the lesson we all learned here is that if your boyfriend broke up with you, it’s probably because you weren’t clingy enough.

I hated that ending. Not the "Bloody Ending," because Sekai kinda deserved that one for cheating on Makoto. I'm talking about the bolded print where Sekai gets blamed for being a b**** by Makoto when her friends were the ones doing the bullying behind her back.

And then of course, there's the issue of whether if Kotonoha deserves the bullying. I mean, it's not hard to see why Sekai was able to make friends despite being an insecure wreck herself, while Kotonoha wasn't able to do the same. They say people who are bullied usually let themselves get bullied; the stereotype feels so true here. She could have opened up to people if she wanted to make friends instead of whine all the time. Hell, I wouldn't talk to her myself if she was a real person.

I also hated how she constantly tried to match Sekai up with Taisuke. Taisuke's such a pig. His words regarding 'training Sekai' were just downright creepy, and yet Kotonoha, despite her ignorance, tried to match Sekai up with that perverted a**hole.
