Anyway, GTA V has a great satire about the current state of movies. It was so funny, the way they showed that movies are all about superheroes, remakes and reboots these days. And then there was this line,

"You think movies are about saying something new? It's about telling the same lies over and over again. Good guys win, bad guys lose."

Yeah, maybe. I just hate that I feel this way about movies and have to "take a break" and whatnot. I love movies, man. I used to be such a nerd about all kinds of movies. lol

Maybe I should just take the time to watch older, classic movies or something. Maybe Oldboy. The original, not the remake.

That's the problem. There's nothing 'different' about movies these days. Or at least that's the way I see it. They are all the same formula, same cliches. I can't change what I see.

Like I said, it might be an inevitable phase. You watch movies for years, you would eventually recognize the kind of formula movies usually use, and of course, you would find them formulaic.

I want to say that it's a phase that comes with many other things as well, being familiar with something and then being bored with it. However, that's not the case with video games. I'm still having fun with video games like BioShock: Infinite and Fallout: New Vegas. They don't seem as cliche to me as movies do.

Then again, I'm merely referring to Hollywood blockbusters, so of course they are formulaic and cliche, right? Well, two things:

1. People everywhere still hype these movies up to be the greatest things ever made since Viagra, calling them "big budget movies that we are most anticipated to watch." Obviously, I don't find the movies to have lived up to that kind of hype.

2. That's not always the case though, as I used to think they did live up to that kind of hype. Raiders of the Lost Ark, Judgement Day, Rambo: First Blood, Dirty Harry, Predator, Aliens, the original Friday the 13th, etc. These were all 'Hollywood blockbusters' and I didn't have a problem with them. It's only now that I find the newer blockbusters repetitive and boring, like I've seen them before already.
