Need Help Deciding

Would like to start writing again, but i dont know what i should focus on.
I've got good hits with short stories for sure.
But i most enjoy writing my Warmachine fluff....which isnt finished.
Then theres also my backstory....also not finished.
Anyone particularly for or against any of these?

So we had our monthly review for work the other day, kind of a potluck event.
All 25 or so employees were there and i got employee of the month. My boss is a 15yr USMC vet and its rare that i see him and even less frequent that he ventures to my neck of the woods to offer praise.
Well basically the funny bit comes when i was receiving my award, i had reached into the cooler and grabbed a coke, and my hand was sopping wet from the half melted ice/water filling the container.
I'm Number One Apparently.

Was driving along on a less traveled route on patrol today.
There was a gentleman on the corner of an intersection as i stopped, and just as he saw me he shouted from the other side of the street,
"****you PIG!" then of course brandished his middle finger.
I waved back and said politely,
"Thanks very much, vote Democrat!"
and drove off without skipping a beat.

I was at work the other day and i got a call i dont get too often this time of the year; 10-95 which is mentally unstable individual. Found out a few minutes later it was some homeless lady walking around the compound with some kind of used sex toy, shoving it in peoples faces trying to sell it.
