    Default Gothic 5: Aeternus

Yup. You read well. Gothic 5: Aeternus will be coming spring 2012 for the PC and Xbox360.

Gothic 5: Aeternus will be a reboot of the Gothic series. The story will take place in the Mordrag world 500 years after the events in Gothic 4 and will be centered around humanity's desperate last stand against an alien invader from a different dimension. According to the official press release, the game will be open ended and there will also be a savegame export system, kind of like Mass Effect. Also, the old skill system from Gothic 3 will return, but more evolved. DreamCatcher has not yet disclosed the name of the producer, but they have stated that the game has been in production since August this year.

Gothic has officially jumped the shark.

Not necessarily, no. I for one, am looking forward to this game. It will be interesting to see how the developer integrates elves into Gothic lore. Hopefully they will really be an alien culture.

( Scarhead comments ) it will be better to stay in Gothic time , and not to go to far , we will axes ,swords, bows and some of magic and massive game map and maximum possible number of quests lot of skills ! and not some ****ing aliens , the best solution will be remake of Gothic 2 , this was the best story in RPGīs ewer , we donīt wont go in future , it has enough of those future games we will epic stile , real gothic , with minimum bugs ! this Gothic 3 was so so, but Gothic 4 total bull**** . please people make remake of Gothic 2 , because this storry and all of this ingame moments was awsome , and one more thing it was very big game for this year when it was produced . we dont want modern stile , no guns no explosives just cold weapons oldscool , Tank you for rading my opinion ! OMG there will be a 5th Gothic. If Jowood had spend some time listening to there FANS, e.g by implementing camera zoom, no bugged graphics etc etc. It can actually be a good game. And I hope that this time it will be less bugged than Gothic 3 and 4. Because to be true, it are both bad bad bad releases.

So Jowood, dont pressure you're development team to make there deadlines and making them release a unfinished game. Like in G3-4. And maybe take a example from Bethesda because there whole ElderScrolls series rocks!
